Each piece is handbuilt using beige stoneware and handcarved with a cypress tree motif which is painted in turqouise, royal blue, brown and taupe underglazes and coated with three layers of food safe glaze.

First seen in Beit Dajan بيت دجان, the cypress tree (شجرة السرو) is one of the most popular embroidery (تطريز) motifs across the region. Woven on the fabric in repetitive patterns, horizontally and vertically, there are diverse variations and colors unique to each region. Despite these distinctions, the symbol serves as a unifying element, binding all cities together and reinforcing a shared cultural heritage and landscape. Today, this motif is most common in embroidered garments from Beer al Sabe’ (بئر السبع).
